ResponsibilitiesLeads system-wide public policy efforts to achieve Ascension’s agenda.
Responsibilities:
Leads policy team, including regulatory, federal/system, and state policy; guides federal and state advocacy through Ascension policy leadership; aligns closely wiht Finance to fully realize and leverage all available financial opportunities; collaborates closely with Advocacy and External Communications Public Affairs in strategic analyses and planning necessary to build the national and state agendas; also works with External Communications in the formation of Ascension’s external policy positions and supportive collateral; manages regulatory oversight to ensure Ascension’s voice is present at the Administration level; manages major policy contracts to meet agenda; oversees operations, budget, financial targets and personnel related to Public Policy; Participates in all relevant internal and external work groups related to public policy, leading those which require direction from Public Affairs; acts as a critical member of key trade associations in ensuring Ascension’s priorities are understood, incorporated & reflected in those of the trade associations; builds critical senior-level relationships with key leaders inside the organization and externally with key policy makers, influencers, and strategic thought leaders; supports External Communications in ensuring Ascension’s narrative is widely understood.
RequirementsEducation:
Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.Additional Preferences#le@der
