This position supports the organization in the integration planning, execution, onboarding, optimization, and management of new partnerships and joint ventures that align and integrate with Banner Health. The role will focus on identifying and developing integration plans and strategies related to new mergers and acquisitions, working across all internal functional areas as well as coordinating with external constituents. In addition, the position will participate in the strategic planning and performance monitoring of Banner's existing joint venters (e.g. Select Physical Therapy and Atlas Healthcare Partners). The position will represent Banner with integrity and professionalism and build external and internal relationships to ensure business strategy alignment and successful post-close integration delivering on acquisition and operational performance objectives. Thought leadership, identification of market growth opportunities, review and recommendations for financial performance improvements are critical.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Leads the development and execution of integration goals and strategies for partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisitions within the health system and serves as the primary liaison between Banner Health and external partners ensuring effective relationships and collaboration with stakeholders, including executives, clinicians, and community leaders.
2. Oversees the end-to-end process of integrating new ventures or partnerships and builds a high performing team to execute these efforts. Develops comprehensive integration plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
3. Defines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) for partnerships and ventures to assess their impact on clinical and financial outcomes and identifies opportunities at all stages of integration to optimize partnerships, driving improvements in efficiency, quality, and patient experience.
4. Ensures partnerships and ventures comply with healthcare regulations, legal standards, and organizational policies and works closely with legal and compliance teams to address potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
5. Oversees budgets related to partnership and venture integration activities and ensures financial sustainability of partnerships and ventures through ongoing monitoring and strategic adjustments. Collaborates with finance teams to perform due diligence and financial modeling for prospective partnerships.
6. Utilizes problem solving and mediation tactics to addresses challenges and overcome barriers that arise during integration processes and implements change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions for team members and stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Expert-level working knowledge of principles, practices, and operations in assigned area of responsibility as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible managerial experience in designated facility, business entity or area, including a minimum of two years management level experience within a major health care organization, health system setting, or large multi-operational corporate environment in complex industries similar to healthcare.
Must demonstrate expert-level knowledge and awareness of area of expertise in designated facility, business entity or area. Experience working in an integrated delivery system, multi-hospital system, or managed care organization in a management level position in assigned area of responsibility. Proven track record of driving successful performance outcomes and accomplishing organizational goals. Experience anticipating and responding to the needs of internal and external customers. Strong financial and business acumen. Knowledge of financial planning and analysis, debt and capital markets. Able to analyze and interpret data. Skilled in building partnerships with senior level stakeholders, management, staff to achieve goals and objectives; managing problems and situations where uncertainty is inherent; developing strong, enduring, and trusting relationships; fostering the development of cohesive teams; persuading others to adopt a particular stance on an issue; developing and evaluating best practices and emerging trends for organizational applicability and appropriateness; constructing new and innovative solutions for complex and varying problems and situations while considering the larger perspective or context; mentoring and coaching staff by providing open and honest feedback to enhance performance; developing and implementing strategic goals and initiatives that support organizational success; effectively allocating available resources; utilizing data and information to make informed and appropriate decisions; negotiating win-win scenarios with internal customers and/or outside vendors/partners; developing collaborative relationships with internal and/or external strategic partners and/or other applicable parties.
