Assistant Vice President – Vendor Management Specialist

In this role, you will be responsible for the management of vendors for MUFG’s banking arm and securities business under a dual-hat arrangement. Under this arrangement, you will act on behalf of both the Bank and the Securities business, subject to the same remit and level of authority, and irrespective of the entity which employs you.

The focus is to ensure that all vendors are tiered and managed in line with the vendor management policy. In this newly created function, you will be working with key stakeholders to embed the Vendor Management Policy which is currently being developed and ensuring that the processes around vendor segmentation and governance are understood and followed while producing MI and senior management reporting.

Specific Responsibilities:

Act as an ambassador for Vendor Management across the organisation and key point of contact for all vendor related activitiesBuild and develop effective relationships with key internal stakeholders including Vendor Stewards and Service ManagersFacilitate engagement with vendors include IntragroupChampion the Vendor Management Framework and best practices across the organisation whilst acting as a centre of excellence for Vendor Management.Maintain the vendor repository.

Key Responsibilities:

Establishing, co-ordinating and maintaining relationships between MUFG and its vendors throughout every stage of the engagementAct as a champion to ensure Vendor Management policies and procedures are correctly adopted and appliedAble to understand contracts and translate performance measures such as KPIs and SLAs into meaningful reporting for senior management.Collating and assessing the performance of vendors including relationship surveys and challenging performance metrics as appropriateDeveloping and maintaining a sufficient and accurate vendor register and liaising with internal teams such as Procurement; Service Managers and vendors to remediate any incomplete information.Act in a consultative capacity providing advice and guidance to stakeholdersFocus on developing own knowledge and staying up to date with best practices and industry standardsMaintain and continually improve the Vendor Management Policy and processIdentify and collate any risks, issues and actions to ensure they are managed to resolutionRouting suppliers to appropriate Vendor Stewards and Service ManagersEnsuring vendor compliance with company standards and contract obligationsResponsible for supporting change, managing the communication of the strategy in a positive manner and enabling its implementation

Functional / Technical Competencies:

Demonstrable knowledge of managing Outsourced and Key Vendors both external and intragroupUnderstanding of the end to end vendor selection and vendor onboarding process.Significant experience of building relationships with stakeholdersProven ability to embed policies and framework, driving adaptation within a business.Strong numeracy skills with evidence of tracking financial spend and contract management

Work Experience:

A strong understanding of the Vendor Management Process covering the competencies highlighted aboveGood understanding of the Procurement and Third-Party Risk Management processesGood network building and relationship forming skillsGood analytical and MI/reporting skillsAbility to work as part of a team as well as independently, including in direct relation with Senior ManagementProficient with core Microsoft Applications and software

Please note MUFG operate a hybrid working policy with 3 days per week in the office
