GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Full Stack with AWS Cloud Developer to maintain and develop a COTS product for the USPTO for promotion to the cloud. This position will be located in Alexandria, Virginia and will begin as a remote position, with some possibility of changing to onsite in the future.
ResponsibilitiesAWS Certified Cloud Engineer with Senior level development experience. Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages such as Java, Angular. Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. May build add-on modules using application program language.
Install and configure AWS services and resources. Provide automation and scripting to reduce manual tasks.Establish and maintain monitors to ensure services and applications are operational and available.Review, assess, and remediate security findings and POAMs in AWS environment.Maintain and troubleshoot the AWS services, networks, and applications necessary to support the Legal Tools components. Maintain an inventory of in-use AWS resources and optimize resource allocations for best capacity, value, security, efficiency and resiliency. Ensure developed guardrails best practices are implemented and followed.Provide technical support with maintaining COTS application in AWS. Provide software upgrades and patchingDeploying scalable and secure applications on the AWS platformAnalyzing the existing architecture and project requirements to create an optimal solutionDeveloping architectural solutions for complex problems using a wide range of AWS servicesDesigns and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate toolsMaintains and modifies existing software applications.Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards. QualificationsBachelor's in Computer Science (or similar major) with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)

12+ Years development experience.With 5+ in JavaAWS Certified ProfessionalWith at least 5 years in practical experience AWSClearance Required: Must be able to acquire and maintain USPTO Public Trust

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
