We are seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to support the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). In this position, you will assist in maintaining the institute's critical virtual environment, lead the AWS migration efforts, and lead automation initiatives. You will collaborate with a team of innovative and skilled professionals to address complex technical challenges. By leveraging the latest technologies, you will work to enhance delivery times and minimize operational maintenance.

How a Systems Engineer Will Make an Impact:
Required Skills and Experience:
BS/BA or equivalent.Minimum of 8 years related experience. Minimum of four years of experience with VMware, vSphere 7 or 8 in a medium to large environment.Minimum of four years of experience with AWS (EC2).Minimum of two year as Cloud DevOps using Ansible and Terraform.Good understanding of scripting languages, such as PowerShell and PowerCLI.Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a NIH Public Trust.
Location: Hybrid – One day a month in the office and as needed to meet contract obligations; must reside within commuting distance to the client site in Rockville, MD.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with AWS CloudWatch.Experience with Datadog monitoring and performance tuning.Experience migrating from on-prem (vSphere) to cloud (AWS).Experience with code repositories, and security vulnerabilities identification and protection.Experience in automating and securing the infrastructure on AWS using EC2, Cloud Formation.GDIT IS YOUR PLACE:

The likely salary range for this position is $125,800 - $170,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
