The team

We are seeking an experienced AWS Migration Architect to lead and execute large-scale cloud migration projects, leveraging AWS services and tools to drive successful cloud adoption strategies to join our Cloud Engineering Practice.

The role

Lead and manage end-to-end AWS migration projects, including assessment, strategy development, and implementation phases, ensuring the successful migration of workloads to AWS. Utilize AWS services like AWS Migration Hub, Server Migration Service (SMS), Database Migration Service (DMS), Application Migration Service (MGN), and AWS Outposts to execute complex migrations and modernizations. Design and implement AWS cloud architectures, leveraging core services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and advanced services like EKS, AWS Step Functions, and DynamoDB to ensure high availability, scalability, and security. Develop migration strategies for a variety of workloads, utilizing cloud adoption frameworks and migration approaches such as rehost, replatform, and refactor, tailored to business requirements and technical constraints. Manage AWS networking configurations including VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and ensure optimal security using IAM, Security Groups, and AWS Config. Oversee the integration of on-premises systems with AWS, leveraging services like AWS Outposts and ensuring seamless operations between multi-cloud environments. Provide technical leadership during all phases of the migration process, ensuring adherence to cloud best practices and AWS Well-Architected Framework. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, security, compliance) to ensure all systems meet the required performance, security, and compliance standards. Engage with senior stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring alignment between business objectives and migration strategies. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and policies, ensuring that the migration process adheres to security, privacy, and compliance standards. Lead discussions and technical presentations with senior stakeholders to provide updates on project status, risks, and resolutions. Provide vendor management and coordinate with external partners to ensure successful project delivery. Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports, ensuring all steps of the migration process are thoroughly recorded and accessible.

What you’ll bring

• Extensive experience in managing large-scale AWS cloud migration projects, including assessment, strategy, and implementation phases.
• Lead the execution of end-to-end migration projects, leveraging AWS services and tools like AWS Migration Hub, AWS Server Migration Service (SMS), and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
• Deep understanding of AWS core services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) and advanced services (e.g., EKS, AWS Step Functions, DynamoDB).
• Strong understanding of AWS networking (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway) and security (IAM, Security Groups, AWS Config).
• Proficiency with AWS Migration Hub, Server Migration Service, Application Migration Service (MGN), and DMS.
• Experience integrating on-premises systems with AWS using AWS Outposts or managing multi-cloud environments.
• Expertise in cloud adoption frameworks and workload migration strategies.
• Extensive experience of technical delivery within highly regulated environments, ensuring strict compliance to technology policies and standards
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale IT projects, including vendor management and stakeholder communication.
• Should be able to lead the discussion & Effective stakeholder management.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written and verbal; ability to manage and influence decisions at all levels and effective people management
• Experience of presenting at Senior Stakeholder level and has the ability to lead complex projects.
• Excellent communication verbal + documentation

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $160k-$180k base+ Bonus+ Benefits. The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Digital Service's bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
