The AWS Security Assurance team is responsible for diving deep into industry requirements, establishing and maintaining customers and regulatory relationships for security requirements and establish long-term strategies to meet customer and regulatory security assurance needs and requirements. We are seeking a highly motivated Security Assurance Lead to join our evidence management team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our most security-conscious customers and internal security stakeholders. You will work alongside audit teams who are experts in their respective frameworks delivering evidence artifacts to demonstrate key risk objectives to strategically address compliance. Additionally, you will be responsible for understanding AWS’ operational and technical control environment while using high-judgement to demonstrate and communicate control posture to customers and stakeholders globally. The successful candidate will work across many customer groups and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, ISO, PCI, HITRUST etc.) to design solutions for complex compliance challenges. You will work directly with most divisions within AWS service to improve AWS’ ability to demonstrate assurances for our internal and external customers. This role facilitates our ability to grow and scale our internal compliance processes and mechanisms to meet the compliance and regulatory expectations globally. You should have the ability to learn and comprehend regulatory requirements, control implementations and operational effectiveness, AWS services, and IT and compliance processes. You should be able to evaluate opportunities for improvement, and influence across organizations and teams. Key job responsibilities • Understand and serve as a subject-matter expert around AWS security controls • Manage evidence lifecycle for supported global, third-party and customer audits across US, APJ and EMEA regions • Communicate to leadership key risks and areas of program improvement, as well as seek diverse opinions and coordinate improvement efforts. • Dive deep into the AWS control environment to develop broad domain and technical understanding of AWS control activities and implementation to articulate compliance to key stakeholders. • Bridge communication with key stakeholders and AWS technical communities to articulate control implementation. • Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of compliance program activities and recommend improvements to improve delivery at scale. • Leading projects and supporting campaigns with excellent project management skills. • Creating operational mechanisms to address recurring escalation patterns and persistent challenges • Communicating to leadership the status and key deliverables of team initiatives, seek diverse opinions and contributing to improvement efforts. • Diving deep into the operations of AWS compliance programs to develop broad domain and technical understanding of regulatory and customer expectations to support process improvement initiatives. A day in the life In this role, you will work directly with audit program managers and AWS service teams to ensure the right evidence are delivered to support ongoing compliance programs and customer audits. You will work across the Security Assurance organization as needed to support evidence collection for audits including but not limited to SOC, ISO, FedRAMP, PCI, HIPAA and HITRUST. Additional work will include, but is not limited to: - coordinating with Audit Program Managers - suggesting uplift for evidence requirements - working with internal and external auditors - working on process improvements - coordinating with other security teams. Basic Qualifications · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Accounting/Auditing, or other related fields · 3+ years of experience in security, audits, customer trust, control assessments, or risk assessments. · 3+ years of experience assessing complex technical processes Preferred Qualifications · Demonstrated understanding of cloud computing services/architecture. · Experience in third-party and/or internal audit examinations. · Have experience in performing technical assessments and documentation of network, operating systems, application security, as well as auditing IT processes, including working knowledge of key controls across a number of industry best practices · Have an industry certification such as CISA, and CISM. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
