As a Solutions Architect (SA), you should partner with customers, AWS Sales, and several other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. In collaboration with sales, you should help drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers. As a trusted customer advocate, you should help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions. You should seek out opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broaden the use of the AWS platform across the customer's organization. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. Key job responsibilities •Build deep relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor for their most critical workloads that support their digital transformation and journey to the cloud. •Support achievement of revenue objectives through the adoption and migration of applications, software, and services onto the AWS platform, in partnership with the sales team. •Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud. •Contribute to AWS internal and customer-facing publications such as white-papers and blogs as a means of scaling your knowledge. •Act as a liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support to address customer needs. • Ability to travel within the city or province, and up to 15% out of the province to meet customers • AWS training during the onboarding process (typically the first 3 months) may require travel to the United States for up to 5 consecutive days. A day in the life Day-to-day; Gather business requirements (both functional and non-functional), Propose solutions, Proof of concepts, Demos (presenting technical topics to a non-technical client audience) The SA Commercial team is located across Canada (major cities; Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal) and supports clients in the enterprise, independent software vendors, financial services, small medium business and greenfield sectors leverage their potential with AWS. SAs typically are: • Passionate about designing and guiding cloud architectural builds • Dedicated to accelerating and scaling innovation, reducing costs and driving efficiency • Hands-on, getting into details, and possibly writing demo / proof-of-concept code • Already broadly capable in architect roles, with plenty of hands-on experience About the team About AWS Diverse Experiences AWS values diverse experiences. Basic Qualifications - 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience - 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience - 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience Preferred Qualifications - Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries - Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud - Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
