Enterprise Business Systems and Operations Division seeks qualified Amazon Web Services (AWS) Systems Administrator to operate and continuously improve MITRE’s AWS Cloud Data Warehouse and other AWS-based business applications. Primary role will include planning, process analysis, performance tuning, system upgrades, and production support for the AWS environments. Candidate should have deep knowledge of the AWS platform, infrastructure services, and design of AWS Cloud environments. Functions/Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks • Setting up and managing AWS Cloud environments that support MITRE Internal Business Systems • Monitoring system performance • Implementing security practices and managing access controls in AWS • Ensuring data integrity and access controls • Assessing the health and performance of AWS services • Oversight and governance Required Qualifications Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. + Proven work experience as an AWS System Administrator or similar role + Experience with AWS services to design, deploy and manage applications and infrastructure + Experience with automation tools such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS Cloud Development Kit to deploy infrastructure and applications + Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery + Understanding of Information Technology security best practices to ensure safe handling and storage of sensitive data in the Cloud + Ability to create scripts in Python or other language + AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate certification is a plus Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with Infrastructure as a Code to codify and manage the infrastructure as software + Experience with Cloud-based data products including virtual data warehouse tools such as Denodo This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): None This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): None Work Location Type: Onsite MITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
