AZ/DZ Operator 2, Vacuum Truck Services
The primary role of a Vacuum Operator is to operate Vacuum Trucks (liquid and turbo) for various Industrial customers.



 

Key Responsibilities:

Liquid Vacuum Trucks – Drive and perform major duties independently including the liquid transfer of material from one vessel to another locationTurbo Vacuum Trucks – Drive and perform major duties with the assistance of a Utility OperatorUnderstand and complete required documentation such as waste manifests, bills of lading etc.Responsible for obtaining and completing customer safe work permits and any additional required documents for hauling materialsPerform the set-up and take down of equipment required for the jobPerform the vacuuming of actual material from the job siteAdvise the Utility Operator on the proper equipment needed on the truck to complete the job (i.e. hoses, fittings etc.)Conduct pre-trip inspection of each vehicle (i.e. check fluid levels, oil, anti-freeze etc.)Diagnose and report any vehicle mechanical issues to the mechanicConduct yard checksProvide input and recommendations to management on processes and proceduresPerform general housekeeping on a daily basisOther assignments as directed by the Supervisor / Foreman  

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

High School DiplomaDZ license is required, AZ license is an assetClean drivers abstract1-3 years of work experience in a related field is required  Experience with the function, repair and maintenance of vacuum and transfer pumps and industrial equipment is an assetExperience with the safe handling of hazardous waste and chemicals and safety regulationsAbility to follow road regulations and rules / procedures at customer sitesAbility to work independently as well as in a team settingGood customer service skills with an ability to speak and write in EnglishEffective problem-solving skillsCurrent safety training (WHMIS, IEC Contractor Safety, Transportation of Dangerous Goods)Basic mechanical knowledgeBasic knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and OutlookMajority of the work is local and in an outside environment
