My customer, an international organization located in Washington, DC has a 6 month contract position available for a Azure Cloud Data Architect. 
The selected candidate will be responsible for the data architecture and data management activities within the Business Intelligence (BI) Work Program. He/she should have a strong foundation and hands-on experience in BI data management design and development, debugging BI existing applications, and performance tuning.
The selected candidate will work closely with the BI team to provide technical leadership to facilitate development projects that involve the computing environment which may include the coordination of software upgrades and the installation of new products. He/she will design and validate data solutions that are practical, flexible, scalable, reusable, and strategic. These efforts enhance data quality, enrich access, and provide business decision makers with information upon which they can make more accurate and effective decisions across multiple domains.

The candidate will Drive the ongoing vision, evolution and innovation of our data warehouse infrastructure migration to Azure. The ideal candidate will have success leading deep technical architecture discussions with senior management to drive cloud deployment. As a Data Architect you will leverage analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities to tackle business problems
Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.Understanding of distributed systems concepts and principles (consistency and availability, liveness and safety, durability, reliability, fault-tolerance, consensus algorithmsBuild a cohesive ecosystem of systems/services to transition the on-prem data solution to Azure Cloud SolutionWork with customer technical leads, client executives, and partners to manage and deliver successful migrations to cloud solutions.Experience architecting, developing and/or maintaining production-grade cloud solutions in virtualized environments such as Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud Platform.Excellent presentation and communication skills, with a focus on translating business requirements into technology solutions.Microsoft Azure Certification is a plusRequired Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years leading teamsBachelor’s Degree or equivalency (CS, CE, CIS, IS, MIS, or engineering discipline) or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 15+ years overall IT industry experienceMinimum of 3+ years in a solution architecture role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms.Experience in architecting and designing technical solutions for Microsoft-centric solutions based on industry standards using Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS capabilities.Experience with any of the following O365, Azure, Azure Stack, Azure ADKnowledge of cloud security controlsExperience building and supporting mission critical technology components with DR capabilitiesExperience with multi-tier system and service design and development for large enterprisesExtensive, real-world experience designing technology components for enterprise solutions and defining solution architectures and reference architectures with a focus on cloud technologiesDesired Qualifications:
