Description Focus Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Azure Engineer with expertise in cost optimization and security to join our IT team. This role requires deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and a strategic mindset to ensure our cloud resources are cost-efficient, secure, and scalable. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing Azure environments while driving cost savings and maintaining the highest security standards. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Infrastructure Management: + Design, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud environments to meet organizational needs while ensuring high availability and reliability. + Monitor and optimize Azure resources, including compute, storage, database, and networking, for both performance and cost efficiency. + Manage Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools for streamlined deployment and consistency. Cost Optimization: + Analyze cloud resource usage and identify opportunities for cost savings by implementing strategies such as reserved instances, autoscaling, and workloads scheduling. + Develop cost forecasting models and present recommendations to stakeholders to improve budgeting and cloud financial management. + Use Azure Cost Management + Billing tools to monitor and control cloud expenditures while providing reporting and insights to leadership. Security Implementation: + Design and implement security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security groups (NSGs) in the Azure environment. + Conduct periodic risk assessments and vulnerability scans to ensure the environment is compliant with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001). + Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents in collaboration with cybersecurity teams. Collaboration and Documentation: + Work closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of Azure cloud solutions into existing workflows. + Document processes, configurations, and best practices for cost optimization, security, and compliance Requirements Skills & Qualifications: Technical Expertise: + Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, Azure Cost Management, and Azure Policy. + Proficient in cost optimization techniques such as creating budgets, using reserved capacity, and scaling resources on demand. + Solid understanding of Azure security best practices, including Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, Key Vault, and network security. + Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other tools like Terraform or ARM templates. Key Competencies: + Deep understanding of cloud computing principles, with a focus on balancing cost, performance, and security. + Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret cloud usage data and apply insights to real-world scenarios. + Strong communication skills, with an ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: + Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Azure Security Engineer certifications. + Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Terraform, or Jenkins). + Experience with cloud compliance frameworks and certifications such as SOC 2, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS is a plus.
