Description
We are searching for a DBA that has worked with Azure and on-prem SQL databases with a strong background in Dev DBA work. 

This would imply a strong knowledge of database design, normalization, performance, and tuning concepts, the ability to write T-SQL procedures, data migration skills, and security concepts.  

The successful candidate will also need to have hands-on experience implementing Disaster Recovery Technologies like Clustering, Log shipping, Mirroring, Replication, troubleshooting, and fixing issues, as well as proficiency in backup and recovery processes. 

Work with dev and support teams daily - for project work, new implementations, enhancements, or issue resolution. 

It is expected that the candidate is proactive, disciplined, works well under pressure, works on concurrent items and is up-to-date with industry trends that impact databases or the environments they support. 

Experience, skill and capability
•    Azure SQL Server DBA familiar with Dev Ops principles
•    Strong SQL language capability
•    Managed and implemented Azure Databases
•    Must create/maintain devops pipelines and documentation
•    Managed and implemented on-prem databases
•    Manage project work, service packs, security, patches, password rotations, audit and alerting
•    Understand the key differences between Azure vs on-prem implementations 
•    Setup and maintain database standards
•    Create monthly trending and audit reports
•    Strong database design understanding – normalization, read-write considerations with various data types
•    Performance tuning knowledge – concept through to physical troubleshooting 
•    Have good knowledge of Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views, and Functions etc.
•    Has worked with large complex mission-critical systems
•    Exposure to Oracle/Mongo/Elastic/Cosmos would be an advantage
•    Ability to write PowerShell scripts would be an advantage 
•    Strong working knowledge of RDBMS (high availability solutions & performance tuning).

Experience
•    Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Azure SQL databases
•    Proven track record of designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based solutions.
•    Automation of dba processes
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Onsite SQL Server implementations

•    Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative mindset
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working across teams
•    Ability to mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of learning
