BA4 Risk & Control Analyst

Join us as a BA4 Risk & Control Analyst, where you will play an integral role in strengthening our risk and control frameworks, this position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in identifying, managing and mitigating risks to support operational and regulatory excellence.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as:

Business experience within a Risk & Control, Operational Risk or Internal Audit Function.

Strong operational experience and sound commercial judgement within a business environment

Flexibility and adaptability to varying scope and workload.

Build and maintain effective relationships within allocated functional areas. 

Support the design and execution of an agile program of control assurance.

Create/ review testing scripts to ensure they are fit for purpose and align to the relevant standard operating procedures.

Identify and support improvements in risk awareness and control performance via controls assurance undertaken.

Complete Design Effectiveness Assessments (DEA) of controls to ensure they have been designed effectively and complete Operational Effectiveness Testing (OET) to ensure they are operating effectively.

Interact with representatives of the business, providing advice, guidance and support to enable them to understand and discharge their responsibilities in compliance with Barclays Control Framework policies/standards.

Supporting the Operations Control Partners in the delivery of embedding an effective and fit for purpose Control Framework.

Track defects identified through to resolution remediation.

Support escalation for any material errors which may impact enforceability that have been identified via Controls Assurance.

Support the Operations Control Partners in the timely and accurate capture of Risk Events as well as Issues/Actions in the Approved System of Record in accordance with the Barclays Control Framework policies/ standards.

Purpose of the role

To support Wholesale Lending with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

Support with day-to-day Wholesale Lending initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution through lending technical expertise.Monitoring the bank’s lending operations to ensure that they are conducted in an efficient and effective manner and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Wholesale Lending processes.Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Wholesale Lending processes.Development and implementation of Wholesale Lending procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.Development of reports and presentations on Wholesale Lending performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Wholesale Lending Services.Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Wholesale Lending efficiency and effectiveness.
