Back Office Medical Assistant
Job Title: Back Office Medical Assistant FloaterJob Description The Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. Supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient population. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support in either the MA role or dedicated lab roles. Responsibilities + Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision. + Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management. + Assist in examining and treating patient populations. + Perform all laboratory testing procedures, including phlebotomy (venipuncture, finger sticks, heel sticks). + Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. + Assess emergencies and act accordingly. + Float between various office locations as needed. Essential Skills + Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements. + Knowledge of basic medical terminology. + Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices. + Phlebotomy skills. + Ability to communicate effectively with patients, employees, and the public. + Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly. + Flexibility to float from one location to another as patient queue demands. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School diploma required. + 2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting. + MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience. + Phlebotomy experience required. + Ability to take vitals (manual vitals preferred). + Active BLS certification required. + Active driver's license required. + Flexibility to adjust to changing work environment. + Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred. + Experience with TriMed EMR preferred. Work Environment 100% onsite: Monday - Friday 10:00 am-7:00 pm AND Every-other-Saturday 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Floating between the following locations: Royal Palm Beach, Boynton East, Boynton West, Wellington, and Palm Beach Gardens. Permanent opportunity with travel reimbursements. Willing to train on manual vitals. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00/yr.
