Job Description
The Back Office Medical Assistant Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patients. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support in either the Medical Assistant role or dedicated lab role.
ResponsibilitiesPerform quality team-based patient care under the supervision of a clinician.Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management and patient examination.Perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.Assess emergencies and act accordingly.Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.Float from one location to another as patient queue demands.Essential SkillsKnowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.Knowledge of basic medical terminology.Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.Phlebotomy skills.Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.Flexibility to float from one location to another as patient queue demands.Independent, responsible, and organized.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma required.2 years' experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting.Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' Medical Assistant experience.Phlebotomy experience required.Must be able to take vitals (manual vitals preferred).Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Active driver's license required.Flexible to adjust to changing work environment.Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.Work Environment
100% onsite: Monday- Friday 7:45am-05:00pm and every other Saturday 7:45am-12:00pm. Floating between locations in Weston, Chapel Trail, and Miramar. Mileage reimbursement at $0.67/mile when traveling between clinics. If asked to float outside of core locations, a $20 gas card will be provided. Willing to train on manual vitals.

The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00
