Job Description
The Back Office Medical Assistant Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient populations. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support in either the MA role or dedicated lab.
ResponsibilitiesPerform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management.Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.Assess emergencies and act accordingly.Float between various office locations based on patient queue demands.Essential SkillsKnowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.Knowledge of basic medical terminology.Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.Phlebotomy skills.Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to assess emergencies.Flexibility to float between locations.Independence and responsibility.Organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma required.2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting.Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' Medical Assistant experience.Phlebotomy experience required.Ability to take vitals (manual vitals preferred).Active BLS certification required.Active driver's license required.Flexibility to adjust to changing work environment.Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.Work Environment
100% onsite: Monday to Friday, 10am-7pm AND every other Saturday, 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Floating between the following locations: Doral, Miami Lakes, Miami Lakes East, Midtown, and Hialeah. Addresses: Doral: 9655 NW 41 Street Doral, FL; Miami Lakes: -15 NW 67th Avenue Miami, FL; Miami Lakes East: NW 57th Ave Miami Lakes, FL; Midtown: 3201 N Miami Ave Ste 107, Miami, FL; Hialeah: 1193 West 49th Street Hialeah, FL. Opportunity to go permanent. $0.67/mile when traveling between clinics. If asked to float outside of core locations, a $20 gas card is provided. Willing to train on manual vitals.

The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00
