Assigned Business Center Location: Morrow

This position will be helping support CenterWell Primary Care Anywhere, which provides in-home primary care services to our patients.

On-site Working Expectations:

When expected to work on-site, it will require working from our Morrow business center location. 

Field-based Working Expectations:

When expected to work in the field assisting our providers with primary care house calls, the Medical Assistant will be performing phlebotomy, vitals, and assist with initial work-up. It could be expected to help work in the field anywhere from 1-5 days per week. Mileage reimbursement will be included.

Assigned Territory: The Medical Assistant could service the following areas within Georgia: Cherokee County, Marietta, Acworth, Mableton, Dallas, and Powder Springs.

Remote/WFH Working Expectations:

This position will also allow 1-2 days to work remotely from home after initial probationary period.

The Medical Assistant 2 performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system, taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site. Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses. Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Required Qualifications

Valid state driver's license, clean driving record, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Auto Insurance Policy: Associates are expected to maintain personal vehicle liability insurance. Associates must carry vehicle insurance in accordance with their residing state minimum required limits, or $25,000 bodily injury per person/$25,000 bodily injury per event /$10,000 for property damage or whichever is higher. 

High School Diploma or GED.

1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back office', direct patient care setting. Cross-trained to do front office procedures.

An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AAH, AMT, ARMA, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, NHA, MedCA. If not certified or registered, MUST be willing to obtain certification or registration from one of these organizations within 6-months from date of hire.

Active phlebotomy certification or willing to obtain certification within 6-months from date of hire. Must have hands-on professional phlebotomy experience.

Hands-on professional phlebotomy experience.

Active BLS certification from the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).

This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Must be a team player with excellent communication skills.

Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment.

Basic computer knowledge and experience with MS Outlook.

Ability to travel/drive locally to multiple site locations.

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs).

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual.

Experience with HEDIS measures.

Experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, Family Medicine, and/or Internal Medicine is highly preferred.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
