About the role

As a Back Plant Operator, you will collaborate with our facility control room to safely and efficiently operate and inspect various power plant systems to ensure the operational effectiveness of Covanta’s industrial disposal process. 

Position Responsibilities:Operate and inspect power plant systems by safety operating procedures; systems include, but are not exclusively limited to boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and heavy industrial equipmentMonitor and inspect various boiler plant auxiliary equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devicesRead and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and/or potential equipment disruptions that impact facility operationsMonitor air pollution control equipmentPerform various types of material sampling, chemistry testing, and treatment of water, as requiredSafely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment, such as: cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forkliftsResponsible to maintain correct levels of refuse-fuel in operations equipment, and ensure appropriate refuse mix in designated pits and areas of operationsAdditional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operationsPosition Requirements & Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent preferredA minimum of 2-3 years experience operating heavy industrial equipmentMust have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule

The expected hourly pay rate for this position is $31.97.

This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary figure will take into account various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
