We’re looking for mid-level Backend Engineers to join Spotify’s Core Infrastructure team. You will contribute to the development and optimization of the foundational infrastructure that powers the Spotify platform. This is a highly impactful role and you will be developing the systems that enable Spotify’s engineering teams to deliver robust solutions quickly and efficiently to meet the demands of over a billion customers. You’ll design, build and develop scalable infrastructure services and tools, and collaborate in a cross-functional team.
We are currently hiring for two teams within Core Infrastructure:
The Abs team is responsible for building the central backend infrastructure and framework upon which hundreds/thousands of engineers at Spotify build the Spotify experience. You will join a team of backend engineers who share a common interest in providing a seamless backend development experience.
The Manifesto team is building a cutting-edge declarative platform that manages 50K resources declared in 3,000+ Google Cloud projects, enabling engineers to innovate faster and smarter and Spotify to manage cloud resources at scale. If you're excited about Kubernetes, passionate about infrastructure as code and love solving complex challenges, this might be the perfect opportunity. What You'll DoAs a part of a collaborative agile team, you will help improve the core infrastructure systems that are the foundation of the rest of Spotify’s backend.Design, analyze, and optimize code for large-scale distributed systems to improve platform reliability and scalabilityWorking with technologies that are at the forefront of the current tech landscape at Spotify scale (supporting thousands of developers and over a billion customers).Participating in an on-call rotation as part of the operational responsibility for services maintained by the team. Who You AreYou are an enthusiastic engineer with an interest in building backend infrastructure.You are proficient in Java, with a willingness to pick up other programming languages.You are well-versed with scripting languages, such as Bash or Python.You have experience with cloud-based environments, CI/CD practices, Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code.You have a passion for learning, experimenting and working with new technologies, while adapting quickly.You care deeply about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery, clean code and automated testing.You are experienced in designing and building distributed and scalable systems and feel thrilled by the idea of seeing millions of users running your code.Where You'll BeThis role is based in Stockholm (Sweden) or London (UK).We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best!
