**Kelly Services is actively recruiting for a Backup Analytical Lab Technician for a Long Term Contract opportunity in Hayward, CA.** **Position:** Backup Analytical Lab Technician In the lab, you will: + Perform hands-on experiments + Follow safe lab practices + Maintain accurate laboratory records + Conduct formulation physical properties characterization (e.g., pH, particle size, solids content) + Prepare and analyze analytical samples In the office, you will: + Collaborate with service contractor company representatives and procurement specialists + Support all site departments by creating procurement orders + Follow up on commitments and track vendor performance Responsibilities as Analytical Technician: + Perform hands-on experiments in a lab setting. + Follow safe lab practices. + Maintain accurate laboratory records. + Generate and report analytical and physical/chemical data to support shipping certifications for manufacturing. + Serve as a backup analytical technician as needed. Responsibilities as Procurement Specialist: + Responsible for the Purchase Requisition (PR) Creation process. + Support requisitioner on how to receive materials (GR) or services (SES). Create SES (Service Entry Sheet) for vendor if needed. + Vendor invoice management, including After the Fact invoice. + Handles payment of invoices from all vendors, Troubleshoot PtP issues on Purchase Order (PO’s). + Ensures suppliers are created or updated in the Vendor Master Database in compliance with the applicable processes. + Active participates Cost to Serve meeting on PO spending (go over accurals for the month) and with site accountant to review cost and payments. + Responsible for managing ISN for Hayward Site. Training: + 12 hours per day for 6 weeks. Working Hours: + Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. + Working hours when covering the lab: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Preferred Qualifications and Skills: + Prior experience in physical and chemical characterization (e.g., FTIR, GC, HPLC, or GC/MS). + Experience with ERP SAP. Procurement workflow in SAP experience is a plus. + Good computer skills. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Strong problem-solving skills. + Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. + Flexibility in handling various tasks, adapting to different roles as needed, and being available when needed, including working on different shifts. + Voluntarily communicates needs and suggestions clearly and effectively to other employees.
