Assembles ingredients, prepares and bakes simple to complex bakery products and desserts to department standards according to standardized recipes for patient, retail food services and special events. Responsible for recipe development, quality control and application of safety and sanitation principles. Directs, collaborates and coordinates activities of baker's helpers. Able to identify ingredients/finished products that do not meet established quality standards. Attentive to detail of special/restricted diets.
Essential FunctionsPrepares a variety of products (yeast dough, donuts) according to standardized recipes using industrial bakery equipment to established standards. Identifies sub-standard product/ingredients and works with leadership to rectify situation.Reviews daily orders and plans production of bakery products and desserts. Prepares, decorates and packages cakes, cookies and other products to established standards and to customer requests.Maintains safety and sanitation of work area according to established standards.Updates and develops recipes and brings forth ideas for improvement.Maintains the Beaumont standards in interactions with others. Works collaboratively. Provides learning opportunities for interns/students as requested.QualificationsRequired
