Summary
The baker works under the direction of Pastry Chef responsible for coordinating individual work station and communicating with the Pastry Chef.
Job Duties for our Baker I include
Reporting to work on time in the proper uniform.Ensuring standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained on a daily basis. Maintaining good safety practices of employees throughout the kitchen.Participates in on-going employee training.Takes part in all incentive programs.Maintains line of communication between Chef, Sous Chef and other kitchen staff.Completes daily duties before and after shift. Assists Pastry chef.What You'll Need To Get the Job Done
Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.Must be at least 18 years of age.Food Handler Permit.Skills & Knowledge
Must demonstrate competency in reading writing and arithmetic and have the basic knowledge of culinary terms and knife skills.In addition, must demonstrate ability to learn recipes, handle all kitchen equipment, and lean basic kitchen techniques.Candidate must have the ability to multi-task i.e., prep several item at once while accepting direction from the Chef or Sous Chef.Position requires exercise of judgment within policy guidelines, problem solving and initiation of activities written job description and responsibility limitations.Also requires understanding of other Snowbird operations.Work Schedule
4 or 5 am to 12 or 1 pm, depending on business levels.Typically 5 days a week work schedule, flexibility with work days preferred.Must be able to work weekends and holidays.This is a full time position, starting date would be mid-JuneWorking Conditions
Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.Must be able to lift 50 lbs.Must be able to stand for long periods of time.Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
