General Job Description:
To be knowledgeable in the areas of G.M.P and safety, as it pertains to the mixing process. To possess a strong ability to follow instructions. To account for all raw materials accurately. Must possess a strong understanding of the operation of all mixing / blending equipment. Must possess the ability to work with others as a team while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Outlined below are the roles that the Operator position could assume on a typical day in the Claremont Bakery.
Responsibilities:
Learn and follow all safety procedures related to the set up and operation of the equipment, including the lock-out/tag-out procedure
Demonstrate the ability to assemble and operate all equipment as designed, as well as understand the function of the equipment. Inspect equipment, parts, and dough hooks to verify they are in good repair and sanitary, prior to set up.
Must be knowledgeable in all safety guidelines pertaining to mixing / blending and display the ability to conduct safe work habits in accordance with all developed standards. Must be knowledgeable in all G.M.P. standards pertaining to personal hygiene and the mixing / blending process.
Inspect all raw materials for possible contaminants and report any discrepancies to Quality Assurance.
Blend Plant Operator Tasks:
Accurately identify all raw materials used in the mixing / blending process. Assist in the accurate verification of proper lot number usage in accordance with lots specified on formulas. Possess the ability to read, comprehend, and accurately perform any written/typed instructions for an item formulation. Demonstrate the ability to accurately complete and provide all written information required of the mixing / blending position. Must be able to complete all QA checks and documentation for the raw area. Data entry into ROSS/transfer/direct issue materials. Receive bulk flour shipments in accordance with our receiving procedure guidelines. Receive flour ingredients in ROSS. Assist in the training of new team members. Be responsible for controlling losses of raw materials and mixing / blending product. Must be able to effectively wash down equipment for product changeovers. Responsible for discarding trash in the proper container. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Inform proper warehouse personnel in a timely manner of all raw materials needed for the mixing / blending process. Remove inedibles. Must be willing and able to operate a powered industrial truck.
Must be willing and able to lift up to 100 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift. Team members in this job classification shall experience prolonged exposure to temperature extremes ranging from 60 – 120 degrees with moderate noise levels.
Must be willing and able to push mixing bowl weighing approximately 600 lbs on wheels repeatedly throughout shift.
Possess basic math skills.
Requirements:
6 Months work experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing facility.
Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
