Ballard Paraprofessional Bus Aide JobID: 1361 + Position Type: Student Support Services + Date Posted: 8/9/2024 + Location: Districtwide + Date Available: 08/23/2024 Ballard Community School district currently needs part-time paraprofessionals in all of our buildings. Para-educator Bus Aides work approximately 15 hours per week. This position is assigned to work 178 student contact days. Primary Responsibilities: + Support bus drivers in meeting the needs of students of students with individualized needs. + Support individual and/or small groups of students. + Supervise students during their bus ride. Compensation:Pay is annualized so you will receive a check in July and August. Minimum hourly base rate is $13.85. Additional compensation is available for related experience and education such as a paraprofessional certificate, AA degree, or BA/BS degree. Qualifications: + Display a basic understanding of the needs of children. + Ability to relate effectively to children with different academic and behavioral needs. + Display patience and compassion and maintain a caring and helpful relationship with children. + Display professional communications skills including active listening, written and oral. + Ability to physically lift up to 50 lbs. + Ability to bend, lift, sit on floor, run short distances, and assist physically active students. + Demonstrate the emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved. + Demonstrate initiative and the insight to anticipate problem situations and respond accordingly. + Ability to take directions, work with minimal supervision and follow policies and practices.
