**Overview:** Completes basic mortgage payment processing and special loans duties and basic research tasks. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Complete routine data entry, system updates and validation related to mortgage payments, payoffs and special product maintenance. + Complete standardized document review and validation related to mortgage notes, modifications and ACH (Automated ClearingHouse) agreements. + Complete basic documentation preparation related to mortgage loan modification documents. + Respond to or initiate standard requests on exception payment applications or mortgage document term research. + Complete mid-level complexity research into maintenance completed, payments and payoffs. + Complete entry-level reconciliations of system maintenance and cash work as required by assigned area. + Complete routine or standardized exception processing of payments, payoffs and ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage) criteria outside current system logic. + Maintain contact with internal business partners and external customers as required in completing assigned responsibilities. + Work with, assist and complete quality control of offshore vendors who are processing work on behalf of the Bank. + Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. + Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. + Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. + Complete other related duties as assigned. **Scope of Responsibilities:** The jobholder may work in Mortgage Payments, Payoffs or Special Products and is responsible for entry-level tasks noted above. **Education and Experience** **Required:** Associates’ degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience Proven internal and external customer service experience Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent spreadsheet and word processing software Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated problem-solving skills **Education and Experience Preferred:** Minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
