Banking Services Operations Associate III (Mortgage Payments & Maintenance) - Hybrid

Overview:

Completes basic mortgage payment processing and special loans duties and basic research tasks. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Complete routine data entry, system updates and validation related to mortgage payments, payoffs and special product maintenance.

Complete standardized document review and validation related to mortgage notes, modifications and ACH (Automated ClearingHouse) agreements.

Complete basic documentation preparation related to mortgage loan modification documents.

Respond to or initiate standard requests on exception payment applications or mortgage document term research.

Complete mid-level complexity research into maintenance completed, payments and payoffs.

Complete entry-level reconciliations of system maintenance and cash work as required by assigned area.

Complete routine or standardized exception processing of payments, payoffs and ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage) criteria outside current system logic.

Maintain contact with internal business partners and external customers as required in completing assigned responsibilities.

Work with, assist and complete quality control of offshore vendors who are processing work on behalf of the Bank.

Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The jobholder may work in Mortgage Payments, Payoffs or Special Products and is responsible for entry-level tasks noted above.

Education and Experience Required:

Associates’ degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

Data entry, payment processing, and/or mortgage servicing experience

Minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience

Proven internal and external customer service experience

Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent spreadsheet and word processing software

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated problem-solving skills

Scheduled Shift/Required Availability: 
Hours of this position are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
 

Location/Working Model:

This is a hybrid position requiring two days in-office

Eligible candidates must live within commuting distance to the office

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.11 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
