Summary:
The Bankruptcy Specialist II applies advanced technical and operational skills to loan, lease and mortgage accounts involved in complex bankruptcy and/or legal actions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Completes valuation recommendations and prepares legal documents for foreclosure and repossession processing. Performs bankruptcy loss mitigation techniques to avoid loss to the bank. Completes real estate calculations for monthly write down and charge off processing. Attends senior management monthly charge off and write down evaluation meeting to discuss decisions and evaluation outcomes. Interacts directly with outside counsel on Huntington owned and investor owned property. Establishes complete and accurate records on accounts as required to ensure that legal, reporting and/or systems requirements are at expected levels. Takes appropriate action to minimize further losses and maximize loss recovery. Researches and responds to inquiries regarding accounts involved in bankruptcy and/or legal action. Develops workout strategy on consumer installment loan\lease & mortgage loans to minimize loss or effect recovery on current loan portfolio. Oversees outside council activity on complex bankruptcy cases. Provides technical direction to co-workers when necessary. Establishes complete and accurate records on accounts as required to ensure that legal, reporting and /or systems requirements are maintained. Takes appropriate action to minimize losses and maximize the recovery. Conducts research involving bank policy along with federal and state bankruptcy regulations. Stays abreast of changes in court procedures and document requirements. Contacts consumers and debtor attorneys to resolve issues related to bankruptcy and repayment. Manages and approves strategy and authorizes settlements on behalf of the bank. Performs functions as a bank witness in court. Could testify in court as to bank policy and procedure. Responsible for bankruptcy loss mitigation, foreclosure recommendation and write down and/or charge off evaluations. Required to attend and articulate evaluation outcomes in senior level management review meetings.Performs other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:
