Bankruptcy Specialist II

SUMMARY:

The Bankruptcy Specialist II is responsible for ensuring all bankrupt accounts are properly coded and processed to ensure the company is in compliance with both federal bankruptcy laws and company policy.

MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Timely filing of proof of claims, Reaffirmations, proper coding of accounts, including flagging and removing flags as appropriateReview claims for accuracyMonitoring plan to ensure LFS lost is minimumReview court docket and case information via electronic case monitoring to promptly determine when attorney action is required and refer to local counsel as necessaryRecommendation to manager in regards to lift of stays or other bankrupt functions as neededWork with LFS network bankruptcy attorneys, bankruptcy trustees, debtor's attorneys for any information needed on the caseHandle inbound/outbound callsRespond to all email and phone communicationsThoroughly review and analyze bankruptcy documents and work with attorneys to meet deadlinesDocument the system with appropriate action and/or follow up on each fileExport LexisNexis daily report into share folderReview reports for quality assuranceManages risk relative to positionOther duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution2 - 4 years consumer finance or Bankruptcy experienceAbility to work with minimum supervisionWorking knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word applications

Federal bankruptcy knowledgeNormal office environmentOvertime and weekend hours may be required due to seasonal or month-end needs, or as requested
