SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Sr. Banner System Administrator, the Application Administrator III is responsible for the daily administration, trouble-shooting and maintenance of the Banner ERP, its associated forms and applications as well as the various data feeds to and from the underlying Oracle 19c database. The Banner System Administrator II will run regular security audits and work with the Project Management Office (PMO) and SIS Applications Director to conduct security reviews with the various business process owners, fine-tuning security groups and keeping access up-to-date. The Banner System Administrator II will also perform established data and disaster recovery procedures and testing; construction of scripts and programs at the database level. Assist in complex application planning, design, development, implementation, and performance tuning for mission critical University systems associated with the Oracle 19c database in an OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) environment. Will also perform other duties as assigned by TAMUC IT leadership. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: + Provides daily support for the TAMUC Banner ERP. Establishes and maintains security, user accounts and user groups for the Banner ERP, Oracle databases and other University SIS-related systems. + Resolves tickets related to Banner/SIS Database access requests and account modifications, UC4 (Automic) job automation account access and other attached systems. + Runs annual system audits and works with TAMUC management to adjust groups, users and permissions as authorized by TAMUC business owners. + Maintains and develops Linux/Unix shell scripts as well as SQL/PLSQL code to support automated file creation and maintenance, sFTP import and export processes as well as various crontab jobs on University servers. + Assist TAMUC staff with trouble-shooting errors associated with the development and promotion of queries and reports against the SIS database. + Using UC4/Automic job automation tool, automates jobs/process and promotes them from QA to Production after TAMUC user testing. Using UC4/Automic management tools, regularly identify and correct failed jobs/processes, create, monitor and close tickets within Team Dynamix (local) and Ellucian (ERP Vendor) as needed. + Assist with Disaster Recovery Planning and testing. + Works with the BSME (Banner Subject Matter Experts) University Group involved with the ongoing implementation, upgrading, and maintenance of Banner. + Supports Web, Form and Report application services for Banner INB and self-service modules. + Clones and refreshes test/development databases to support IT personnel in testing new software changes and performance tuning including Ellucian Banner and TCC patching, upgrades and user testing validation. + Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: + Education: This position requires a bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or closely related field.  + Experience / Knowledge / Skills: The candidate must have five (5) years of related work experience either through professional work experience or in combination with a related internship. The position requires knowledge of Oracle database (18/19c is currently used by TAMU-C), PL/SQL programming language, Relational Database Management Systems, Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting languages. + Ability to: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and written communication skills. + Licensing/Professional Certifications: None + Physical Requirements: None + Other Requirements: None PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE: + Two (2) years of experience in higher education is preferred. + Six (6) years related work experience preferred. + Oracle Database certification preferred. + Experience in or training/certification related to the OCI environment (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is preferred. + Experience with Oracle 18c/19c is preferred. + JSON Programming (Data Exchange Formatting) experience preferred SUPERVISION OF OTHERS: Banner Admins I, Graduate Assistants, and Student Workers All positions are security-sensitive.
