Banquet Captain Part-Time

Key Responsibilities:

Event Coordination: Review and confirm event orders, menus, and floor plans. Supervise and participate in setting up banquet rooms, including table arrangements, decorations, and equipment needs (audio/visual, linens, silverware, etc.). Liaise with event planners and clients to confirm event details and resolve any last-minute changes or requests. Team Leadership and Management: Supervise banquet servers, bartenders, and other event staff during the event, ensuring duties are carried out efficiently and professionally. Delegate tasks and provide clear direction to the team, monitoring their performance and adjusting workloads as necessary. Train and coach new banquet staff on service standards, customer interaction, and event setup. Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained for events based on guest count and event type. Guest Service: Ensure timely and professional service during events, including food and beverage service. Address any guest concerns or special requests during the event. Oversee the quality and presentation of food and beverages, coordinating with the kitchen to meet event timelines. Inventory and Equipment Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of banquet supplies such as linens, glassware, and serving utensils. Ensure the proper care, storage, and maintenance of banquet equipment. Post-Event Duties: Oversee the breakdown and cleanup of banquet rooms, ensuring all items are returned to their proper storage areas and the space is left in clean condition. Complete event reports, noting any issues, feedback, or important details for future reference. Skills and Qualifications: Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within banquet or catering services. Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team to deliver high-quality service. Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with guests, team members, and event organizers. Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and the ability to resolve issues under pressure. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to the execution of event details, including service quality, setup, and guest satisfaction. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and manage physical tasks like setting up tables and chairs.

Working Conditions:

Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required. Fast-paced environment with a focus on guest satisfaction and timely service.
