Banquet Set-up On-Call

General Purpose:
The banquet set-up team will properly clean, set-up meeting rooms, and banquet functions per specifications on the BEO’s or as given by banquet management including vacuuming floors and cleaning walls and windows/mirrors. Proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floor lecterns is required. Proper control and storage of meeting room supplies such as linen, pads, pens/pencils and candy, etc. are required. Service every meeting room by emptying trash, removing dirty plates, cups, linens and glasses, and replace as necessary. Straighten all chairs. Replenish water requirements as specified or requested. On a continuous basis, keep service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized, and unobstructed. Upon customer request, locate and deliver convention material to designated location. Perform other duties as requested, such as moving furniture in and about the club.
Essential Duties:
Reviews all Banquet Event Orders on a daily basis to determine staffing levels, location set-up, related supplies and decorating materials.
Ensures events are set-up on time, and the quality of the product and level of service delivered.
Ensures that proper audiovisual equipment is available, delivered, and set-up as needed for use by facility departments and guests.
Maintains and improves on an ongoing basis the presentation of all events at the facility.
Performs set-up and tear down activities for all meetings or special events.
Monitors overall convention/banquet areas for cleanliness and any maintenance issues. Works with housekeeping and engineering on any areas in need of attention.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to bend, squat and lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears
Occasionally sits; climbs or balances.
Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Moving tables and chairs as needed.
Environment/Noise:
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
Noise level can range from moderate to loud.
Schedule to vary including evenings, holidays and extended hour as business dictates.

Food Safety and Sanitation Training

Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
Assigned including work in other areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods or otherwise balance the workload.

Education/ Certificates/ Licenses/ Training
High School Diploma preferred.
Must obtain any required local and state licenses or certifications.
Experience /Background/ Knowledge
Knowledge of dining room / Banquet operations required.
Skills
Ability to communicate effectively with managers, guests and employees both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to perform basic math computations.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
