The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration and has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space, and 8 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 poolside bars, a gelato shop/café, and in-room dining). Hotel Website, Instagram, Facebook Overview As a Banquet Setup Attendant, you would be responsible for safely and correctly cleaning, organizing and setting all convention service function space as well as breakdown and store all equipment in designated areas. This includes, but is not limited to, the following duties: Clean, set and break down all conference and banquet functions in accordance with hotel standards and in a timely manner. Clean all function areas, including vacuuming, dusting, mirror cleaning, rug shampooing, metal polishing, window cleaning, and other overall detail of meeting rooms. Responsible for knowledge of fire codes and regulations. Keep all exits and fire lanes clean and clear. Clean as you go and keep service hallways clean and clear at all times. Communicate to Supervisors or Managers of any broken equipment. Assist in other departments to ensure guest’s complete satisfaction, as needed. Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and associates, damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency, and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency. This is a full-time position, and you must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This position is for the AM / 1st shift which is typically from 6am-2:30pm. Hours may vary some depending on business needs. Qualifications Great attitude Thrives in a team environment Excels with organization and cleanliness Ability to move furniture - lifting / pushing / pulling up to 50+ lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations Ability to read a BEO and set a room Certification in Hospitality or Event Management is a plus
