The Oasis Hotel & Convention Center is currently seeking a motivated Banquet Captain to lead out setup team in the overall preparation and setup of all banquet and banquet related Food & Beverage operations.

The Oasis Hotel & Convention Center is a full-service property featuring 172 guest rooms, Fire & Ice Restaurant & Bar, Bella’s Pizzeria and over 30,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Our meeting space alone is able to accomodate 10-1,500 guests. Our Banquet department offers full-service catering options from our top-notch food and beverage team, and our convention center is fully equipped to host a variety of events from weddings and tradeshows to conventions, seminars, corporate retreats, and everything in between

This position requires evening and overnight shifts.

Coordinates all aspects of the room/facilities setup in accordance with the BEO (Banquet Event Order)Assists in managing the banquet setup team and housekeeper.Prepare rooms for setup to include clearing dishes, removing linen and trash, cleaning /vacuuming, etc. Proper care, movement, and storage of banquet supplies.Set meeting rooms and banquet functions per specifications on resume and BEOs or as given by banquet management. Prepare for each function as appropriate, including, but not limited to placement of tables and chairs, linens, table settings, beverage stations, buffet set-up, bar set-up, etc. Keep service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized, and unobstructed.Maintain open communication with the Banquet Manager and/or fellow Banquet Captain, informing of immediate changes or needs.Perform general and deep cleaning /organizing tasks as directed by management.Work safely and courteously at all times Qualifications Strong attention to deal required.Excellent communication, guest service and time management skillsMust be able to organize, plan ahead and manage workload.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and multi-tasked environment.Must have a positive and professional upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests.Must be dependable and energeticMust be flexible regarding scheduling as it is based on business demandsShifts will vary between the hours of 5pm-5am.

Physical Requirements:

This is a very physical position that requires constant standing and walking. Frequent bending, squatting, handling, and grasping. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs. Pushing and pulling and average weight of 97lbsMust be able to lift and move heavy equipment on a continuous basis throughout shift.
