Overview Job Overview: The Banquets Sous Chef at Black Desert Resort is a crucial leadership role, assisting the Banquet Chef in overseeing the culinary operations of the banquet kitchen. This position involves ensuring the preparation of high-quality dishes for events, maintaining kitchen standards, and assisting in menu planning. The Banquets Sous Chef will support the Banquet Chef in managing the kitchen team, inventory control, and the seamless execution of banquet functions. Job Specification: Location: Onsite at Black Desert Resort Shift & Schedule: Year-Round / Full Time Salary Range: $58,657 - $70,000 This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Job Responsibilities (but not limited to): Assist the Banquet Chef in designing and preparing menu items, ensuring adherence to quality standards and alignment with resort presentation expectations. Oversee and support of In-Room Dining and the Employee Cafeteria. Support daily banquet kitchen operations, including maintaining a sanitary environment and overseeing food preparation, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist in scheduling and coordinating banquet kitchen staff, providing training, feedback, and fostering a collaborative atmosphere. Monitor and address food quality throughout preparation and service, conducting regular checks on equipment and supplies to ensure operational efficiency. Collaborate on menu planning, input on new dishes, and creation of special items for themed events, staying updated on culinary trends. Assist in managing food inventory, tracking supplies, optimizing budget, and preventing stock issues. Work closely with banquet service teams to ensure smooth kitchen operations for events, attending planning meetings to understand client needs. Engage with guests to receive feedback, address dietary needs, and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications and Skills: Minimum 3-5 years of culinary experience in a high-volume banquet or catering environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, banquet operations, and food safety standards. Ability to support and motivate a kitchen team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Certification in food safety and sanitation is preferred. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $58,657.00/Yr. - $70,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
