The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. The beautiful outdoor bar and lounge has 250-seats serving a delicious array of refreshing cocktails, wines, and culinary creations. Wright Bar is the Biltmore’s famous (and infamous) lobby bar embodying the renegade spirit of Hollywood’s Golden Age featuring craft cocktails and a light bar menu to include our signature Tequila Sunrise - the legendary cocktail that was invented here in the 1930’s! As a Bar Server, you would be responsible for service of beverage and/or food in a friendly, courteous and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction; keep service station and section clean and organized at all times; serve, pre-bus and re-set tables during the shift; and maintain have significant menu knowledge of both the food and beverage menus. This includes but is not limited to, the following duties: Check and maintain proper set-up and cleanliness of service station before, during and after shift. Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain all specials, promotions and snacks. Take orders reciting selection of all call and premium brands as requested; maintain memorization of all available drinks. Upsell items as appropriate. Record the details of the order from the guests, repeating the order to the guest to check for accuracy. Input orders into point-of-sale system to inform the bartender and kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed. Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction. Present the guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return. Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards. Supplement the busperson duties in clearing and resetting the tables. Perform all assigned sidework to include replenishing condiments and restocking side Attend mandatory meetings. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor. Adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed. This is a part-time position, and you must have flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Shifts will be between the hours of 10am - 12am.
