Barge Welder
**Job Title: Welder** **Job Description & Responsibilities** + Perform stick welding and MiG welding on barges. + Grind, torch cut, and fit materials as needed for repairs. + Read and interpret blueprints to execute precise welding tasks. + Check in barges and carry out necessary repairs onsite. + Collaborate with the machine shop to obtain precise materials for repairs. + Work efficiently in various weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, and heat. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in MiG welding and stick welding. + Experience with torch cutting and grinding. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Fitting and fabrication skills. + Experience using a tape measure for precise measurements. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Shipyard experience is preferred. + Relevant welding certifications. + Experience with grinding and torch cutting. **Work Environment** + This position requires working on barges in various weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, and heat. + The shift schedule is from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with 50 hours one week and 64 hours the next, including working every other weekend. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
