Position Summary

The Bariatric Strategic Manager (BSM) will report to the National Sales Director East or West (NSD) for the Device team. Based in the Midwest, this individual will be responsible for driving the evaluation and adoption of the Titan SGS within the assigned regions they support. This individual will collaborate closely with the Regional Managers and Sales Reps in their assigned regions to drive new surgeon adoption. The BSM will play a primary role working all Titan Opportunities in the assigned geographies working with both the RSM and the Sales Rep for all opportunities starting just prior to VAC submission through surgeon adoption. The BSM will present on their pipeline and progress on their opportunities to senior leadership on a regular basis. In addition to new surgeons, they will also be focused on driving revenue growth with existing users and retention for previously adopted Titan users. A secondary role for the BSM will be to partner with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) in the development of all sales reps in in their knowledge of Bariatrics, Sleeve Gastrectomy, and the benefits of the Standard Sleeve with the use of Titan. While this role is an individual contributor reporting directly to the NSD, they will be a part of the Sales Leadership Team and play a critical role in driving Titan sales growth. 

Principal Responsibilities

•    In partnership with the NSD and RSMs, work with the sales team in the field to identify, qualify, and engage with new opportunities for Titan SGS. These visits will be vetted with the RSMs to make sure the sales rep has the right targets for an effective field visit. 
•    Provide feedback to sales leadership on the observations of the sellers worked with in the field, focusing on the development needs of those individuals. 
•    In collaboration with the NSD and RSMs, conduct follow up field visits with sales reps to assess the development of their opportunities and their development selling Titan SGS. 
•    Participate in Regional Calls and training calls where needed to support the development of our sellers. 
•    When asked by Training, participate in New Hire training Classes to support the education and training of Titan and Bariatric procedures. 
•    Collaborating with the rep and the RSM, achieving the targeted number of new surgeons to be proctored each year by quarter in their assigned regions. 
•    Collaborating with the rep and the RSM, driving growth and retention of previously adopted Titan surgeons in their assigned regions
•    Collaborating with the rep and the RSM on the development of the Sales team in knowledge of Bariatrics, Sleeve Gastrectomy, and the use of Titan. 
•    Collaborating with the rep and the RSM, the BSM will Review, Edit and Approve all VAC submissions for Titan for all opportunities in their assigned regions. 
•    Collaborating with the rep and the RSM, the BSM will be focused on accelerating the timeline for opportunities to move through the sales process especially focused on the time just prior to VAC submission to Proctoring. 
•    Collaborating with the rep and the RSM, the BSM will host either virtual or in person informational sessions for all VAC members connected to the opportunities in their assigned regions. 
•    When possible, the BSM will attend and present our VAC submission with the Rep and or RSM to the VAC committees. 
•    Provide Clinical Support for Titan cases once qualified and approved and where needed.

•    Aligning with the RSM and NSD, work in the field with sales reps on their Titan opportunities and the development of the rep to sell in Bariatrics. Provide written feedback from these field visits to the rep, RSM and NSD. 
•    The BSM will present on their pipeline and progress on their opportunities to senior leadership on a regular basis.
•    The BSM will advise management of any quality problems, ensuring that corrective action is taken and that customers are properly notified.
•    The BSM will visit customers and work with field sales organization on a regular basis with department staff to maintain sound customer relations.
•    Keep management informed of competitors' activities through review of information from internal and external sources.
•    Work with the Vice President of Sales, Director of Sales, Regional Sales Managers, and Marketing to organize and conduct Regional and National Meetings.
•    Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex’s Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in sales management in a medical products company. Experience in the     Bariatric Surgical market preferred
•    Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university. MBA a plus
•    Proven track record in medical product sales management and success in launching new products is required
•    Able to spend a significant amount of time (50% +) traveling in the U.S. 
•    Advanced level proficiency with computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
•    Strong leadership traits with the ability to take people where they otherwise would not go
•    Experience with supervising and training sales representatives; interviewing skills necessary
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong tendency as a listener
•    Ability to create a good team environment with people of diverse backgrounds
•    Well-versed in problem solving and negotiating activities
•    Excellent platform and team building skills
•    Ability to collect, compile, and analyze data and information in order to create documents such as     business plans, operating budgets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
