Check out this video for more information on our great company! #PGH-BMC Location Description Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is nestled high atop the majestic San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 5,174’. This Resort is surrounded by an ocean of Ponderosa Pines and gives guests exclusive access to Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir with a surface area of 780 acres. Lake Arrowhead is the perfect location for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and offers a variety of summertime and wintertime activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and more. The resort includes a Bar & Restaurant, Spa & Wellness Center, Outdoor Pool & Lake Beach as well as over 23,000 sq. ft of meeting and events space. Overview Basic Function The Barista ensures high levels of guest service while assisting customers with their purchases, as well as handling special orders as requested. Essential Functions Greet guests in a friendly manner and take food and drink orders as requested Take orders with attention to detail, such as allergies, preferences (i.e., milk substitutes) Prepare and serve beverage items such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, variety of teas, and other specialty drinks whether hot or cold Prepare and serve food items such as pastries, muffins, and sandwiches Comply with all food, health, and safety regulations Receive and process cash, debit and credit payments through Point of Sale (POS) systems Answer guests’ questions and respond to customer complaints/concerns Educate customers on current promotions and new products Maintain espresso machines, brewing equipment, display cases, and other equipment to ensure proper function and identify repair or maintenance needs Uphold cleanliness standards across all workspaces, including but not limited to coffee counter, display cases, fridges, shelves, floors, and cabinets Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to direct report Stock inventory according to coffee shop opening and closing procedures Ensure standards of dress are met each day. Stay informed about resort amenities, current events, holiday festivities, and menu offerings Marginal Functions Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by a supervisor, manager or Director. Upon request, help in other areas of the Resort within the Food and Beverage Department, including seating guests, running food orders, or assisting banquet functions. Environment Outdoors with cement surfaces. Indoors, dimly lit, carpeted, and climate-controlled environment. Hard kitchen floors with occasional slippery or greasy areas. Handling hot plates, glasses, and silverware. Outdoors: cement, wood decking, sand, and grass surfaces, with exposure to outdoor climate and elements. Qualifications RBS certificate and San Bernardino County Food Handler’s Certificate required or must be obtained. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working in a retail environment High volume experience. Good food and service knowledge. Pleasant personality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced setting Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Must be able to adhere to a flexible working schedule. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $16.00/Hr. - $17.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
