Overview

The Barista is responsible for preparing hot and cold beverages, educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.

Responsibilities Maintains the highest level of standards for all production preparationPrepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and teaAdheres to all company recipes and measurementsProduces superior product presentationKeep bar dishwashing sinks filled with correct cleaning solution and levelsMaintain inventory of all coffee product and alert a manager for re-orderingCheck if brewing equipment is working properly and report any maintenance needsProvide engaged, friendly and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation, and smilingPractice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materialsFollow and adhere to all standards set forth by the Department of Health (DOH)Perform other related activities as assigned by management Qualifications Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodationAvailable to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or  holidaysMeet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodationEngage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communicationPrepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredientsRequirements:1+ years experience as a Barista in a similar caliber establishmentA high school education is required  Highgate Hotels, L.P. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains the policy of recruiting and retaining the best-qualified personnel who demonstrate the ability to perform competently and work well with others.
