We’re hiring a Barn Maintenance Worker to Live. Work. Explore. at the south rim of the Grand Canyon! Job Summary: Safe and efficient cleaning and maintenance of livery corrals and related facilities. The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Pay: $15.40 per hour Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why Grand Canyon South Rim? Responsibilities Assist with the cleaning and repair of mule-related impact in the livery barns, corrals and related facilities. Work with livery managers to prioritize daily assignments to maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness for the livery corrals and facilities. Operate heavy machinery such as skid steer, tractor, and dump truck, to clean corral, unload feed, dump manure, and assist with snow removal. Adhere to all safety, risk management and environmental policies. Feed mules as directed by livery management. Overnight stays at Phantom Ranch may be required from time to time. Based on the mixed-gender nature of the Trail crews and limited employee housing at the bottom of the Canyon, employees may be required to share room accommodations with team members of the opposite sex. Employees will have access to gender-specific shower and restroom facilities, but will be expected to sleep in a co-ed bunk house. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience handling horses or mules. Ability to handle extremes in weather and working conditions and exposure to outdoor conditions. Possess valid Arizona Driver’s License and comply with the Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy. Possess physical ability to perform tasks of the position including entering confined spaces, ascending/descending ladder and safely lifting up to eighty pounds. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
