Barrons Sr. Writer, Economics and Federal Reserve
Barron's Senior Economics and Federal Reserve Writer Barron's is seeking an experienced reporter to cover the economy, writing sharp analyses of major economic news events they happen and enterprise stories that explain what those events mean for the broader economy, companies, financial markets, and the pocketbooks of ordinary Americans. A primary responsibility will be to lead our coverage of the Federal Reserve. But we are also looking for someone who can do more than just cover news quickly. This person should be skilled at reporting and writing compelling stories based on travel around the country to talk with workers, the unemployed, or company executives to understand how economic events are playing out on the ground. Given the critical nature of this topic for our readers, we are seeking only journalists who have experience working in a newsroom. This position can be based in either New York City or Washington, D.C., but this person must be willing to develop sources and attend major events in person at the Federal Reserve in Washington, and the Fed's annual summit in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Barron's strongly values teamwork, so the ability to collaborate with reporters, editors, and our visual journalists is a must.
