 Job Summary:
Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartender/Server will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that are consistent and continually in accordance with the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartenders will also be responsible for making alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the recipe and delivering high quality food and drinks in a clean and friendly environment.

Position: Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartender

Location: Fort Myers, FL

Reports to: Oxbow Bar & Grill General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Supervisor

Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Job Summary:

Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartender will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that are consistent and continually in accordance with the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartenders will also be responsible for making alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the recipe and delivering high quality food and drinks in a clean and friendly environment.  

Essential Functions

General knowledge of cocktail crafting and mixology fundamentalsCurate guests’ bar experience by making recommendationsKnowledge of all beverages to include liquors, wines, and beersServe guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of serviceKnowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Oxbow Bar & GrillHave necessary tools to run the shift such as pen, corkscrew, bar tools, etc.Ability to pair wines with mealsUnderstanding that the bar serves full food & drink menu and must be prepared to serve full coursed and/or shared meals to guestsLight food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hotKnowledge of all menu items to include prep time, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompanimentsCollect and process payment for food and beverages servedFollow standard TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcoholBe aware of any specials, soups, drinks, and any items that are running lowAbility to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time of any issues that may affect the guest experienceFollow appropriate cash handling procedures as established by Accounting, and must be able to explain shortages and overagesMaintain a clean and orderly bar areaClean glasses, utensils, coolers, and bar equipmentPerform other duties as management requests to service our guests.

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

High School diploma or higherPrevious hospitality experience requiredMinimum 2-year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant preferable in the Southwest, Florida areaExcellent customer service skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads 

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 20 pounds or moreAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate clearlyCorrected vision to normal rangeAbility to work long hours as needed

NOTICE:  The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day.  All employees must realize this fact and be always aware that it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands.  In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
