BASEL OFFICE - Maintenance Operation Analyst (River)

ROLE DESCRIPTION 
As Analyst Maintenance Operation River, you will be part of the Technical Organization River (TOR) that oversees Maintenance & Repair Operations for Viking’s fleet of 80+ river ships. You will report to the Senior Analyst Maintenance Operation River and work closely with the technical department leadership team and other key stakeholders in the company. The Analyst Maintenance Operation River is virtually involved in several aspects of the technical management of our river fleet with the overall objective of improving Viking River Cruises' performance and our guests’ experience. You will provide executives with periodic reporting, and key analytical and business insights, obtained through in-depth analysis to enable solid, fact-based business decisions. You are part of a team to maximize our operational effectiveness, reduce costs, improve our supply chain and procurement operations. 

 

This interesting role is based in Basel (Switzerland) and requires travelling based on business needs and projects.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Take responsibility for identifying information sources, gathering and interpreting data, and presenting findings to Operations and Supply Chain teams
•    Manage and publish periodic reports related to cost, revenue and operational metrics across Technical Supply Chain and Maintenance
•    Maintain high consistency in technical maintenance and procurement data sets 
•    Help identify opportunities to improve performance across the technical operations
•    Review and align the current vendor database, maintaining accurate records for new vendors
•    Analyze customers’ and colleagues’ feedback, competitors and suppliers to define strategic recommendations to growth our business and increase customer satisfaction
•    Support setting up projects and tracking projects and planning development, identify potential bottle necks and take appropriate actions

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Education and professional experience
•    Completed Bachelor or Master degree in a scientific or business field comparable qualification
•    Relevant knowledge in technical maritime or transportation industries desirable
•    Experience with MS Suite, BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau, SQL and common project management software 
•    Experience with AI-related software is a plus

 

Soft skills and others
•    Very good verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams 
•    Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and direct manner
•    Robust analytical mindset, pragmatic hands-on mentality, curious and a strong team spirit
•    Deadline- and data-driven, organized and able to multitask and work independently
•    Fluency in German and English is mandatory, additional languages are a plus
