Batch Mixer
**Job Title: Batch Mixer** **Job Description** A multi-skilled position responsible for the operation and quality control of all Salad Dressing mix equipment and processing systems required in the process of making salad dressing. This person should be production-oriented, trained in food safety defense, have good leadership skills, and be willing to work closely with other Salad Dressing Operators. The role involves accurately weighing all ingredients, mixing batches of raw materials following the batch record, and operating all Salad Dressing mixing and milling systems accurately. **Responsibilities** + Start-up and shutdown of Salad Dressing mixing equipment following Safety, Quality, and Production guidelines. + Set up materials and equipment to be used in daily mixing. + Perform cleaning and sanitation following all guidelines. + Assist Batch Weigher as needed. + Inspect pre-weighed batches for accuracy. + Monitor materials in use to ensure productivity and quality requirements are maintained. + Transport totes as needed to ensure a safe and productive work area. + Relieve and fill-in for the Salad Mixer as needed. + Take samples to the Lab for quality checks such as Total Salts, PH (CCP #1), temperature, viscosity, taste, and Acidity testing. + Keep accurate production and quality records. + Maintain housekeeping standards in the Salad Dressing mixing area. + Participate as an active member of the Production Team. + Participate in Quality and Productivity improvement efforts. + Follow all written and verbal Salad Dressing mixing production instructions and priorities. + Monitor and turn in all production and quality sheets for the shift. + Inform Production Manager of all production, quality, safety, or personnel issues. + Document duties as scheduled in the computer-based system. + Assist in finding coverage for shifts to fill in for absences and vacations. + Maintain a good working and communication relationship with co-workers, warehouse personnel, the Production Supervisor, and Manager. + Other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Batch mixing + Compounding + Food manufacturing + Sit down forklift operation + Ability to read scales to determine weight + Ability to lift 50+ lbs + Pallet jack operation + Heavy lifting + GMP adherence + Blending **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Forklift certification + Ability to work in other departments + Ability to communicate effectively with other employees **Why Work Here?** Currently undergoing an expansion and increasing headcount - a great time to get in on the team as the company grows! **Work Environment** This is a large food production warehouse where production lines include salad dressing, mustard, and other products. Candidates should expect to work with mixers, bottlers, shipping/receiving, and quality control. This is a GMP environment, so candidates MUST wash hands before working, wear proper PPE, and adhere to GMP guidelines. Hair nets and beard nets are mandatory. Candidates should expect a fast-paced work environment. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
