The Home & Garden business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. We are a leading supplier of consumer products nationally for the home, lawn and garden, insect and weed control markets. Job Summary Produce chemical batches for assigned lines to support manufacturing schedule. Oversee batching process including component verification, batch sampling, waste control, and equipment maintenance/troubleshooting.

Regular hours will be Monday-Thursday, 7am -5pm, plus possible overtime. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Model the Spectrum Brands eight Core Capabilities to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility
Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times
Demonstrate high levels of good housekeeping practices to promote a safe work environment
Start batch record into production and verify it is followed correctly.
Troubleshoot and/or rebuild batching equipment as needed
Ensure chemical inventory availability prior to batching and stage accordingly
Execute instructions on batch record
Sample batches at various stages and perform quality checks
Make decisions and adjustments to batches based on results from quality checks
Control waste in area; transfer to holding tank
General housekeeping and spill control in batch room area
Communicate potential quality or procedural issues to Liquid Fence Supervisor
Comply with all Company policies and procedures
Other duties assigned

 

Education and Experience Profile • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skills
Intermediate math abilities, including subtraction, addition, multiplication, division, fraction and decimal conversion
Attention to details
Ability to obtain a full face respirator certification
Forklift certified
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
Limited time off during busy season, Jan-Mar
Willing to work overtime as needed, especially in busy season
3-5 years of Batching experience

 

Work Environment
10% office environment and 90% manufacturing environment
