Battery Electrical Engineer III - New Glenn

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a small, hard-working, and accomplished team of experts, you will be integral in the development, qualification, and production of battery power distribution products in support of New Glenn mission. Your primary technical responsibility is for the electrical design of the power distribution unit, system integration with other multi-functional teams. You will also be responsible for component and subsystem level validation as well as introducing the design to volume production.

Minimum Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field5+ years of direct experience in battery and/or power distribution development, 3+ year in space applications desiredDirect experience with Battery Design, Test, and Manufacturing.3 years of experience with high voltage systems design and/or testing.Experience specifying and justifying margins and test sequences for high power systems.Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the development and production phases of the mechanical assembly product lifecycleAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.Highly organized teammate with excellent technical interpersonal skills (written and verbal)Ability to travel to and work at remote sites supporting test integration, commissioning, and training.Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $128,430.00-$179,802.00

Other site ranges may differ
