You'll have...
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics of Materials, Materials Science and Engineering, Applied Physics or related field of study
2+ years of experience in the following battery categories: battery process development, battery manufacturing equipment design and/or battery cell/array/pack design
Experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling, through use of digital tools and methods (CAD/CAM) as well as Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools, such as finite element methods.
Working knowledge control and automation software and programming languages
Strongly self-motivated, detail oriented, and willingness to learn new knowledge and technology.
Demonstrated record of team-oriented research and engineering.
Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
Non-citizens must have the ability to receive a license to legally work with Export Controlled technology in the USA

PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics of Materials, Materials Science and Engineering, Applied Physics or related field
3+ years of experience in battery cell assembly process development of Lithium-ion battery and/or solid state battery
2+ years of experience in Li-ion battery structural modeling/simulation for automotive industry or a similar area in industry

What you'll do...
Design and develop process to build advanced battery cells at laboratory scale, translate to prototype scale suitable for implementation in a mass-production environment.
Manage and operate prototype scale battery cell manufacturing machines to create different format batteries.
Conduct cell level tests to identify module and pack level structural requirements
Support our engineering team in designing and building prototype battery modules for validation in vehicle applications.
Conduct module and pack validation tests, communicate results with process, test, design and simulation engineers to identify issues, conduct root cause analysis, and provide technical solutions/improvement to structural design
Communicate ideas, plans and results effectively via presentations and written reports
