BATTERY SYSTEMS ENGINEER (2024-21913):

 

Bowhead seeks a System Engineer to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Power, Energy & Interconnect Technology Division (JXM).  The System Engineer shall assist with next generation submarine battery development data analysis an also provide quality assurance services for vendors.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include: 

 

Creating System Qualification Test Plans, Performance Test Plans, Safety/Hazard Characterization Test Plans, Procedures, and ReportsExecute (or oversee a team to execute) the tests at NSWC Crane and Expeditionary Battery fielded system locations and battery vendor sitesConduct Field Integration and Operational Check-out through Initial Operating Capability, perform periodic Field Maintenance on large batteries.Perform Reliability Analyses and Safety Engineering processes on systems.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

 

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required with five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant experience.Experience with Navy manned and unmanned underwater systemsUnderstanding of system engineering, as applied to the range of energy storage devices such as batteries, fuel cells, and other devices and systems energy storage and power systemsAdvanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Physical Demands: 

Must be able to stand, sit and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Secret level, however candidates who currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level are highly sought. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at these locations.
