Job Description
The Battery Systems Engineer will focus on advanced battery technologies for the next generation of zero-emission mining equipment and infrastructure. This role requires working cross-functionally with both internal and external teams. It is primarily integration-focused, with designs provided by a partner and R&D facility, but there is room for optimization. The engineer will work on high-voltage trucks operating in extreme temperatures, from -50C to 50C, and will also work with hydrogen battery products.
ResponsibilitiesExperience with Battery Systems IntegrationDesign and develop new battery systems and technologiesConduct performance and safety tests on battery systemsAnalyze and interpret test data, preparing technical reports and documentationWork with manufacturing processes to ensure production efficiency and qualityIdentify and solve technical issues related to battery performance and lifespanCollaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance to deliver optimized battery solutionsAdhere to and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulationsStay updated with the latest advancements in battery technology and integrate them into product designs when feasibleContribute to cost reduction initiatives through design and process improvementsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societiesEssential SkillsExperience with electric drive systems and battery systems integrationProficiency in software such as Matlab & Simulink and CreoMinimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in automotive, construction, or agriculture industriesExperience with OEM Battery Drive Systems and Electric Drive SystemsUnderstanding how to integrate a battery systemAdditional Skills & QualificationsOwnership experience in a role, with a minimum of two and a half to three years of tenure with a companyWork Environment
The work environment consists of an office setting with a new state-of-the-art office building expected to be completed by November 2025. The flexible work policy requires being onsite three days a week, with an initial period of five days a week for the first three months before transitioning to the flexible schedule.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $62.50
